Bad news

We have had to cancel our July 31st summer market thanks to problems getting a license in time. We’re all a bit gutted, but are taking the opportunity to work on expanding our other plans, developing the group and muttering quietly about red tape!

Edinburgh’s summer of craft!

Gill at Creative Boom Edinburgh has a nice roundup of all of the Edinburgh craft action over the next couple of weeks – it looks like the 24th is going to be particularly busy with Made in the Shade at the Roxy Art House, the opening of Magpie’s Spider and the Fly store and the opening of Hannah Zakari’s brand new shop! Luckily, you then get a week to recover before heading over to our very own Craft Reactor Launch event and market on July 31st!

If you’re involved in the creative industries and are looking for some mid-week action too, you’re in luck, as the second Edinburgh Social Boom will be held on Tuesday July 27th at 6.30pm, also at the Roxy Art House. There’s also some discussion of a bit of a crafty get together on Sunday 25th to make decorations for the event, and once we have more details about that I’ll post them here!

Craft Reactor Summer Market

If you’re a maker, or just love hand crafted goods, join us for our launch event on July 31st!

The Craft Reactor arts and crafts market will be taking place between 10am and 4pm in Edinburgh New Town at the Glasite Meeting House, 33 Barony Street, EH3 6NX. Barony Street is just off Broughton Street, and can also be accessed via Albany Lane from Queen Street/York Place. View our map for location details.

Entry is only 50p, with a free tea or coffee – and if you’re one of the first 30 visitors, a free goody bag containing delights from members and stallholders!

Free craft demonstrations will be held at 11am, 12 noon, 2pm and 3pm. Demonstrations include “How to knit with a T-Shirt” by Madeleine Shephard, and a look at Gocco printing, a Japanese printing method.

We’re looking forward to seeing you there, and if you need any more information just email us on hello@craftreactor.com and we’ll be happy to help!
